Sponsor a Hut
One of the first projects we encourage our HOL schools to engage in is the construction of a HOL Hut. This provides a place to belong for students who otherwise feel alienated from school. Students derive enormous satisfaction from constructing a hut, and the presence of a creative building on the school grounds gives HOL a presence amongst the teachers and students that cannot be underestimated. Building a hut costs money, however, which is a common barrier to schools immediately embarking on an iconic building. But the amount is actually quite small – the straw bale hut at Frankson High School was completed for $15,000.
If you are interested in making a substantial donation toward HOL, you might consider an amount that would encourage a school to build their HOL hut.
Because HOL is a Harm Prevention Charity, all donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
